I’m a Busy Little Writer

This summer is going to be soooooo busy.  I’m talking, type-my-fingers-off busy.  I can see me now… sitting on the beach of Lake Michigan with a laptop in my lap while my family plays in the water.  But that’s okay- I like to be busy.  If I don’t have a to-do list that is a mile long, it doesn’t seem right.   And trust me, I’ll make sure that I get plenty of family time at the beach.

To kick my summer off, my super-cool friend Wren Emerson and I are teaming up with four other amazingly talented writers to do a short-story anthology.  It’s going to be waaaaay cool.  (Did I mention it will be cool?)

Right now, the plan is to each feature a character from our novels and do a little side story (or backstory) on them.  So, if you love the characters in our books- stay tuned.  You will be able to read more about some of them on August 1st. 

Oh- did I forget to mention the other authors?  My bad.  They are Nicole Williams (Eternal Eden), Tiffany King (Meant to Be), Brandon Alston (Grey Eyes) and Addison Moore, if her schedule permits.  I’m sure you know her… she wrote a little story called Ethereal.   We’ll release more information on that fun project as it comes together.  So exciting to work with such talented authors- I can’t wait!

Also, I will be releasing the sequel to my debut novel, Every Last Kiss.  It was originally scheduled for release in January, but I have finished the draft well before my original deadline, so it looks like it will be released this summer.  Yay!  So for everyone who has been asking me about it, sit tight.  It won’t be long.   Have I told you yet that you’re in for some surprises?  You totally are.  And I am thiiiiissss close to announcing the title.  I just have to live  with it for a little bit to make sure that it is THE ONE.   (And thank you again to everyone who chimed in with suggestions.  You totally rock!)

Also, my super-cool friend Wren and I are going to collaborate on a new series. We haven’t nailed down the details yet, but I’m thinking you are going to like it.   We may or may not be releasing short stories as teasers while we work on the series itself.  We’ll release more about that as we get everything more pulled together.

And lastly, I’ve got an idea running around in my head that is just begging to be written.  It’s a light, airy summer romance with no darkness or angst in it whatsoever.  I know.  Unusual for me.  But that’s the point.  I’m itching to do something different.  So, I’ll be working on that, too.

Oh, wait.  That wasn’t last.  I forgot one largish project.  My book, Guardian, is being released from Whiskey Creek Press next month, so this month will be chock full of editing, cover art and re-writes. 

And… of course, I’ll be doing my normal blog stuff with some interesting authors on here and discussing the minutia of my life.  So stay tuned for that.  🙂 

Anyway, as you can see, I’m going to be a busy little writer this summer.  But I can’t wait. What’s summer for anyway?  Lounging at the beach with a cool drink in my hand?  Whatevs.  I just hope that I don’t actually type my fingertips off.  I might need them in the future.
