A Birthday Celebration!

18 Aug

So, my birthday is on August 28th.  I’ll be celebrating a few things.

One, I’ll be turning 39, so I’ll be celebrating the start of the last of my 30’s.   I’ll also be celebrating the re-release of my debut novel, GUARDIAN…which is a big deal to me.

GUARDIAN was my first book.  It was the thing, the cathartic thing, that kept me from drowning in grief after my dad died.  It was also the pivotal thing that pulled me into the writing world and changed my life forever.

To celebrate these things, I’ll be throwing a virtual party on my birthday.

Guardian 10 Days

GUARDIAN will be re-released.  On release day, my birthday, it will be $.99 for digital copies for that one day only.

Also, for that one day only, the following books of mine (which are some of my favorites) will be on sale for $.99:

Dante’s Girl (Book 1 of The Paradise Diaries)

The Minaldi Legacy

Confessions of an Alli Cat  (Book 1 of the Cougar Chronicles)

Soul Kissed (Book 1 of The Moonstone Saga)

If you watch my books at all, then you’ll know this is a big deal, because my books are seldom on sale.

Anyway, I hope you’re all having a great day. As for me, I’m just gonna be over here… counting down the days til my birthday.  Have a great week!

All of Court’s Men: Dante Giliberti

24 Feb

It’s week two of All of Court’s Men, guys!!  Woohoooo!

This week, it’s a blast from the past with Dante Giliberti, my golden-haired sexy sweetie from my YA Contemporary, Dante’s Girl.

DantesGirlFacebook

Dante’s Girl is a funny, light YA contemporary read…something that will instantly make you feel the twinges of first-love.  🙂   Check out the blurb:

I have spent every summer since I was ten years old with my father in London.  Every summer, since I was ten years old, has been uneventful and boring.

Until this year.

And this year, after a freak volcanic eruption strands me far from home, I have learned these things:

 1.  I can make do with one outfit for three days before I buy new clothes.

2.  If I hear the phrase, “You’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto,” even one more time, I might become a homicidal maniac.

3.  I am horribly and embarrassingly allergic to jellyfish.

4. I am in love with Dante Giliberti, who just happens to be the beautiful, sophisticated son of the Prime Minister of a Mediterranean paradise.

5.  See number four above.  Because it brings with it a whole slew of problems and I’ve learned something from every one of them.

Let’s start with the fact that Dante’s world is five light-years away from mine.  He goes to black-tie functions and knows the Prime Minister of England on a first name basis.  I was born and raised on a farm in Kansas and wear cut-off jeans paired with cowboy boots.  See the difference?

But hearts don’t care about differences.  Hearts want what they want.  And mine just wants to be Dante’s girl.

My heart just might be crazy.

********

True to my belief that Alex Pettyfer should play every male lead in the history of the world (with only a few exceptions), this is the image I have in my head of Dante, (Except for the fact that Dante is blond.  So imagine this picture, except with Alex P blond.  🙂

Dante, Alex Pettifer

#TeamDante

Reasons you should love Dante:

He’s golden and gorgeous.   He’s refined and gentlemanly.  He’s the son of a Prime Minister.  He’s funny and sweet and smart.  He’s loyal.  He’s amazing.  He’s a great kisser.  He doesn’t even realize how important he is.  All of the above things are unimportant to him… all he cares about are the important things in life:  Love, family, friends.  The good stuff.

Dante Giliberti is definitely someone you want to meet.  And when you do, picture Alex Pettyfer.

You can find Dante’s Girl on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.    In honor of this week of #TeamDante, Dante’s Girl will be on sale for $.99 USD on Kindle or Nook.  So if you haven’t read Dante’s Girl, now’s the time!  🙂

Happy Monday, everyone.  And go #TeamDante!

Winners from the Dream Car contest

20 Jan

Happy Sunday!

Okay.  I had so many awesome dream cars in my inbox that it was insanely hard to pick a winner.  OhMyGosh.   But.  When two people each sent in my own personal dream car, I knew that they had to win. So, we have two winners this week.

Maserati

Courtney D.  and Vivian both sent me pictures of a Maserati, which just happens to be my dream car.  In fact, I love it so much, that I gave one to Dante in Dante’s Girl.  🙂   Beautiful, sexy car.  I just told my husband the other day that I needed one and he rolled his eyes at me.  I’ll have to keep working on him.

Anyway, congratulations, Courtney and Vivian.  If you email me your mailing addresses, I’ll get a signed ARC in the mail to you.

If you didn’t win, don’t despair!  I have another fun contest coming up.  Since I leave for vacation on Friday, this particular contest will run for two weeks and there will be two winners.  One will be chosen by rafflecopter and one will be chosen by me.  I can’t wait- and I’ll announce the contest details on Tuesday, so check back!

Til then, have a great day!

Holiday with Hotties: Dante

11 Dec

Eeeep!! For Day 3 of Holiday with Hotties, I have Dante Giliberti here from Dante’s Girl (Book One of the Paradise Diaries).  I thought if anyone could perk us up on a blah Tuesday, it was Dante.

I love Dante. He’s truly one of my fave leading men.   Because I pretty much think that Alex Pettyfer should play pretty much every male lead role on the planet, I picture Dante looking quite a bit like Alex Pettyfer… Alex Pettyfer the preppy good guy, that is.  Not the bad boy Alex Pettyfer (which is also smoking hot).   This is how I picture Dante:

Alex Pettyfer as Dante

*fans self before continuing*

So, back to Dante’s Girl.  Ahem.  And the contest.  Don’t forget– check here every day this week to collect letters hidden in the post.  At the end of the week (on Sunday) put the letters together to form a phrase and enter the phrase to win a Merry Christmas Prize Pack from me!  🙂

dantes-girl-front

In Dante’s Girl, Dante and Reece struggled to overcome their differences to be together.  I loved writing it, and I love having Dante here today to hear a bit more from him.  I’ve missed him… and here he is!

Me:  Dante!  I’ve missed you.  How have you been?  What are you up to?

Dante:  *flashes that famous grin*  I’ve missed you, too!  I’ve been good.  Reece and I are just getting ready for Christmas, checking into colleges, you know, the normal stuff.

Me:  So you’re still in Caberra?

Dante:  Yes. After we returned to help clean up after the earthquake, we decided to stay through the end of the year.  There’s no place like home.

Me:  What are you going to do for Reece for Christmas?  I’m guessing it will be something big.

Dante:  *grins again*  I don’t know about big, but I’m taking her on a Mediterranean cruise.  I think she’ll like it.

Me:  *green with envy*  I know she’ll like that.  What girl wouldn’t?

Dante:  That’s what I’m hoping.  *laughs*

Me:  Does it ever get tiring being so perfect?  (The words are out before I can help it).

Dante:  *laughs good-naturedly*  I’m so not perfect.  Just ask Reece.  Or Gavin.  They can tell you.

Me:  Speaking of Gavin, how is he?  After the whole debacle with Mia and Quinn, I’ve been worried about him.

Dante:  He’s fine.  That’s one thing about Gavin.  He always bounces back.

Me:  Whew.  That’s good.  I’ll stop worrying now.  Dante, it’s been amazing to have you here.  I hope you and Reece have a beautiful Christmas and that you get into the college of your dreams.

Dante:  *smiles*  *my knees go weak*  Thank you, Courtney.  I hope you have a Merry Christmas, too.

****

So there you have it.  A word from Dante himself and two more letters for the contest.  Check back tomorrow to hear from Quinn (from Mia’s Heart).  Have a great Tuesday!

FAQ’s about Dante’s Girl: Answered!

13 Jul

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone!

Okay. So ever since Dante’s Girl was released a week or so ago, I’ve gotten a bunch of emails from readers– which I always love getting.   I’ve gotten a lot of questions about Dante’s Girl and the Paradise Diaries… so I thought I would take a moment and answer some of them.

Question:  How many books will be in the Paradise Diaries?

Answer:  I don’t know yet.  I’m sorry- but I’m not the kind of writer who outlines the entire series at the beginning.  I have a fuzzy outline in  my head, but it is definitely subject to change as the story evolves and other characters are introduced.

Question:  Will Dante and Reece be in the next book?

Answer:   We will hear from them, but this book will center around Mia and Quinn. HOWEVER, I think that I will do something a little different than I have seen done before.  I think that after the first couple of books, I will circle around and do another one about Reece and Dante.  Maybe.  Possibly.  I love Dante and Reece.  So probably.

QuestionIs Caberra a real place?

Answer:  No. It’s not.  I made it up entirely in my head.  I wanted to create it exactly how I wanted it.

QuestionI read that you envisioned Dante to look like Alex Pettyfer.  Do you regret that now since it is being leaked that Alex Pettyfer is such a bad boy with an attitude?

Answer:  Obviously, after receiving this question, I had to google whether or not Alex Pettyfer has an attitude.  🙂  And apparently, there are conflicting opinions on that.  There are some stories circulating that Channing Tatum and Pettyfer are at odds- but their reps deny that.   I can’t personally comment on that because unfortunately I don’t personally know either one of them (and that’s VERY unfortunate! 🙂 )- but it doesn’t matter.  Dante doesn’t have an attitude– and Dante only looks like Alex Pettyfer (Strikingly, I might add).   I hope Alex doesn’t have an attitude, because he’s just too downright sexy for that.  But if he does or doesn’t, it doesn’t affect how Dante looks.  🙂   But to answer the question, do I regret envisioning Dante as Alex Pettyfer?  No.

Question:  Who besides Mia and Quinn will the other books follow?

Answer:  I don’t know yet.  I’m thinking that book three might follow Elena, but I’m not sure yet.

* * *

So, there you have it!  These are among the questions I have received this week.  I hope I’ve answered them well enough.   I also hope that everyone has a spectacular Friday the 13th– don’t walk under any ladders!!
