YA Indie Carnival: Best Indie Scares for Halloween

28 Oct

Happy Friday, Y’all!!  And guess what’s creeping up on us??  HALLOWEEN!  My favorite!!

So, the topic of YA Indie carnival today is Best Indie Scares…. what books would I recommend for Halloween reading.

Hmm.  And this one is a hard one.   I interviewed Laura Elliott this week about her book, 13 on Halloween. I haven’t read it yet, but it sounds like a great Halloween read.   If you like dark and edgy, JL Bryan’s Paranormals series would be good (Jenny Pox, Tommy Nightmare and Alexander Death).  But those are not for the young or fainthearted.

My dear friend M. Leighton has The Reaping and The Reckoning out (her Fahllen series).  I haven’t read The Reckoning yet, but The Reaping was awesome. The ending stayed with me for a very long time. So I do recommend that.

So, there are a couple to get you started.   I hope that all of you have a magical, wonderful Halloween.   Please do stop by my other indie friends and check out their Halloween reading recommendations.    Have a great weekend!
